Expectations
of the Library Club
Expectations
 | Parents are required
to stay at the library and check on their children for potty needs, etc.
Children can only leave the room with a parent, unless it is part of the
program. THIS IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE! This is required by our
generous librarians for us to be able to use the library in this wonderful
way, and most importantly FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN!!! |
 | We have 198 parent volunteer
positions to fill over the course of the year. By signing your child up, you
are agreeing to fill an equitable amount of positions through the year.
 | Please know we have tried
very hard to make concrete, logical, loving decisions based on :
 | Number of families in
the program |
 | Number of children
signed up per family |
 | Number of clubs
children are signed up for |
 | Extenuating factors
like a new baby in the family |
 | Limitations of any one
mom to accomplish all a homeschool mom does |
 | Amount of volunteer
positions necessary to pull-off a co-op like this |
 | The fact that this is
a co-op and not a drop-off program |
 | Basically, we took the
number of clubs you're in and multiplied it by the number of
children you have signed up. Then, we made sure no one
was expected volunteer more than 1 x / month. |
|
 | Jenn & Lisa will be
the decision makers for what is equitable. |
|
 | You will be responsible for
finding a replacement if you are scheduled to volunteer on a date you cannot
attend. |
 | You will be responsible for
obtaining the lessons plans the month before you are scheduled from the
person who ran the club the previous month.
 | Example: If Jenn is
scheduled for the October book club, she needs to get the lessons from
Lisa after she is through with them after the September book club is
done. Clear as mud? |
|
 | If you cannot attend, please
contact Lisa or Jenn. If you don’t show up two times without contacting
someone we will assign your child’s space to someone on the waiting list. |
 | We will skip the week of
Thanksgiving, having the 4th week’s club on the 5th week of that month. |
 | We will cancel if FWCS cancels
due to weather. |

Lesson
Plans
 | Folders with Lesson Plans have been made to pass around to whomever needs
it for the following month.
 | You are ABSOLUTELY encouraged to change these as you see fit. |
 | Just follow the general theme of the day. |
|
 | You need to get the lesson plans from whomever taught with them the month
before
 | The easiest way would be to grab them at that club right after the
last person is done with them so you can do any work ahead that is
needed over the month. |
 | If you taught with them, you are responsible to hand them off to the
person who is supposed to teach with them the following month. |
|
 | If you can't get the lesson plans (i.e., you've contacted the person who
had them and just can't connect), remember that you can usually view them on
this website.
 | The button is at the top of the screen under the page that has the
name of the club you need.
 | Example: You're teaching the October Natives Travel Club.
Go to the Travel Club page and on the top of the page will be a
button that says October Natives or something like that. |
 | They're not really in a printable format on this website, but you
can look at them and get the initial info you need on supplies,
books needed, etc. |
|
 | In an emergency, I have them in a printable format on her computer if
you've put days into trying to get them and can't. (or your dog ate
them, or your husband ran over them with the car, etc.) |
|
 | When you get the lesson plans the month before you teach with them...
 | check them for books that need reserved before you leave the
library |
 | check them for custom collections that may need ordered before
you leave the library |
 | check them for supplies
that we don't have available for you.
 | Turn your receipts in to the Treasurer for reimbursement. |
 | Please keep in mind that we've made the cost of these clubs VERY
low so no one would feel a financial burden to participate. We
have a very small budget, so please try and get items for as
low-cost as possible (I know you are all whizzes at it - most
homeschool moms are!). |
