Questions?

Expectations

bulletParents are required to stay at the library and check on their children for potty needs, etc. Children can only leave the room with a parent, unless it is part of the program.  THIS IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE!  This is required by our generous librarians for us to be able to use the library in this wonderful way, and most importantly FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN!!!

bulletWe have 198 parent volunteer positions to fill over the course of the year. By signing your child up, you are agreeing to fill an equitable amount of positions through the year.
bulletPlease know we have tried very hard to make concrete, logical, loving decisions based on :
bulletNumber of families in the program
bulletNumber of children signed up per family
bulletNumber of clubs children are signed up for
bulletExtenuating factors like a new baby in the family
bulletLimitations of any one mom to accomplish all a homeschool mom does
bulletAmount of volunteer positions necessary to pull-off a co-op like this
bulletThe fact that this is a co-op and not a drop-off program
bulletBasically, we took the number of clubs you're in and multiplied it by the number of children you have signed up.   Then, we made sure no one was expected volunteer more than 1 x / month.
bulletJenn & Lisa will be the decision makers for what is equitable.

bulletYou will be responsible for finding a replacement if you are scheduled to volunteer on a date you cannot attend.

bulletYou will be responsible for obtaining the lessons plans the month before you are scheduled from the person who ran the club the previous month.
bulletExample: If Jenn is scheduled for the October book club, she needs to get the lessons from Lisa after she is through with them after the September book club is done.  Clear as mud?

bulletIf you cannot attend, please contact Lisa or Jenn. If you don’t show up two times without contacting someone we will assign your child’s space to someone on the waiting list.

bulletWe will skip the week of Thanksgiving, having the 4th week’s club on the 5th week of that month.

bulletWe will cancel if FWCS cancels due to weather.

bulletIt will be your responsibility to check the website for what your child may need to bring for that club.
bulletFor example, your child needs to bring their own scrapbook for the Pioneers & Explorers Travel Club each month.
bulletExample #2: The pioneers will need to bring their favorite poem to the October book club.

bulletIf your child is disruptive in the club it will be brought to your attention.  If the behavior continues, your child may be taken off of the co-op roster.  (Don't worry, we expect preschoolers to act like preschoolers).

Lesson Plans

bulletFolders with Lesson Plans have been made to pass around to whomever needs it for the following month.
bulletYou are ABSOLUTELY encouraged to change these as you see fit.
bulletJust follow the general theme of the day.
bulletYou need to get the lesson plans from whomever taught with them the month before
bulletThe easiest way would be to grab them at that club right after the last person is done with them so you can do any work ahead that is needed over the month.
bulletIf you taught with them, you are responsible to hand them off to the person who is supposed to teach with them the following month.
bulletIf you can't get the lesson plans (i.e., you've contacted the person who had them and just can't connect), remember that you can usually view them on this website.
bulletThe button is at the top of the screen under the page that has the name of the club you need.
bulletExample:  You're teaching the October Natives Travel Club.  Go to the Travel Club page and on the top of the page will be a button that says October Natives or something like that.
bulletThey're not really in a printable format on this website, but you can look at them and get the initial info you need on supplies, books needed, etc.
bulletIn an emergency, I have them in a printable format on her computer if you've put days into trying to get them and can't. (or your dog ate them, or your husband ran over them with the car, etc.)
bulletWhen you get the lesson plans the month before you teach with them...
bulletcheck them for books that need reserved before you leave the library
bulletcheck them for custom collections that may need ordered before you leave the library
bulletcheck them for supplies that we don't have available for you.
bulletTurn your receipts in to the Treasurer for reimbursement.
bulletPlease keep in mind that we've made the cost of these clubs VERY low so no one would feel a financial burden to participate.  We have a very small budget, so please try and get items for as low-cost as possible (I know you are all whizzes at it - most homeschool moms are!).
